Natascha Madden

Director, Registered Psychologist

Natascha Madden is an independent registered psychologist in attendance at Brisbane Counselling Centre, which was established in 1989. She is a compassionate therapist who has been in practice since 1997.

Natascha’s approach

Natascha believes people do their best work in therapy when they feel heard, seen and understood. Her approach is client-centred and tailored to the individual, shaped around each person’s needs and goals. She brings warmth, empathy and calm to her work, and aims to put each person at ease from the first session. Her gentle, caring approach supports people to move towards the life they want to be living.

She works with people affected by trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), using eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR).  Her practice is centred around helping individuals deal with some of the most challenging emotional issues that can arise in life, including anxiety, depression, sexual difficulties, postnatal depression, parenting and issues in the workplace.

Therapies Natascha uses

  • Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)
  • Attachment based therapy
  • Emotionally focused therapy (EFT)

A little about Natascha

Natascha has lived in Brisbane since 2002 and grew up in country NSW. When she isn’t at the Centre, you’ll find her participating in quiet, peaceful activities like gardening, reading, spending time with the people she loves, travelling and bush walking.

Why Natascha became a psychologist

For as long as she can remember, Natascha has been drawn to helping and caring for people. She has a deep, natural empathy and has always been curious about humans and what makes them do the things they do. That curiosity is still at the heart of her work.
